Taunus hike to the new Hardtbergturm

After a long break, Pickwicks is back in the Taunus for another adventure!
The walk will take us from Kronberg station to the Hardtbergturm. As a reward for climbing to the top of the hill, this futuristic new structure offers a beautiful view of the area from its 27 metre high platform. After the descent, the next reward is lunch at La Fattoria in Kronthal. From here it’s an easy 30-minute walk back to Kronberg.
The details:
Meeting point 1:
- Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof
Platform 104 (underground) - 09:50, to catch the S4 at 09:59
(As everyone seems to have a pensioner’s ticket or DeutschlandTicket these days, we won’t bother with group tickets any more; please get your own ticket to Kronberg).
Meeting point 2:
- Kronberg station
- 10:20
Trains from Kronberg back to Frankfurt run every 30 minutes; we will try to catch the S-Bahn at 16:08.
The total walking time is 3 hours, with some moderate ups and downs. It’s summer, but the weather is rather unpredictable at the moment, so please bring plenty of water to drink and protection from the rain.
